Dear Friends,
Recently when visiting Bosanska Krupa, a town in North/West Bosnia, I was made aware of the hardship Families with children with special needs have to endure. With the post war economy and the expensive treatments/medication many parents are left to go without food to help their children. The good news is that some parents came together and started a "Support Group", and eventually they established a Center and meeting place for families to host activities and some rehab programs. With the help of the community and the city council they purchased a property that was converted into a Rehab Facility, and currently, they are trying to purchase some physiotherapy equipment and hire professionals to help educate and rehabilitate the children. The current education system is not able to support children with special needs, and therefore children are at home being denied an education.
The Center is also a place where parents come for support, be it emotional or financial. As I was told 'sometimes they will bring the children so they can have a meal'. My email to you is to bring this cause to your attention and ask for a tax-deductable donation to support this very much needed Facility in Bosanska Krupa. Your donation will be used to provide educational, physical and occupational therapy. It will give relief to parents, it will put smiles on children's faces. We kindly ask you to open your hearts and be generous.
You have been given an opportunity to help and receive the blessings of giving. Our goal is to collect $10,000.00 by Nov 8th, 2010. Please help us reach that goal. I leave you with this quote "We are only as strong as the weakest among us".
You can donate by sending your donation to:
BOSNIAN CANADIAN RELIEF ASSOCIATION (BCRA)
122 North Queen Street
Toronto, ON M8Z 2E4
(please make a note that the donation is for "Project ADA")
On behalf of the children and families our sincere thank you!
p.s. please forward to anyone you think would be interested in helping this cause.
